A professional recruiter for over 30 years, Laura Lashua has gained a well-earned reputation for success in an ever-changing marketplace. Riding the waves of high and low unemployment dating back to the late 1970s, experiencing the onslaught of technology and the resulting changes in the workplace, Laura has stayed one step ahead to assure that she is tuned in to what is critical in today’s market.

Joining a national recruiting firm in the late 1970s, Laura earned top awards in a firm with over 1000 employees, placing the most candidates in a single year. She continued winning awards for placements, and her example led others as she was quickly promoted into management. Taking the helm as General Manager of a network of 6 offices across the United States, Laura remained "hands on" in recruiting. To assure herself that she was in tune with client needs, she insisted on face-to-face contact with each and every company she represented. And she made sure that representation of candidates for specific career opportunities remained a critical part of her day.

In 1984 Laura started her own firm in Seattle, managing ten recruiters and bringing the company through its first years of rapid growth, then selling it at a profit. In 1998 she established herself as an independent recruiter, opening a private recruiting and consulting firm that specializes in the fast-growing interactive video game industry.

Laura Lashua lives in the Pacific Northwest where she was born and raised. She lives in La Conner, Washington, a vibrant waterfront village that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Aside from Laura’s professional interests, she and her husband John are avid boaters and enjoy excursions on their boat, aptly named Head Hunter. And whether it's a weekend get-away or a full-blown vacation, "the business comes along" as they travel from Washington’s San Juan Islands, to Vancouver Island, to Alaska. They have three sons.
